Digital Media Explorers - $100.00
About this Camp
This camp would introduce younger students to digital media in a fun, creative, and hands-on environment, with an emphasis on exploration, imagination, and confidence-building rather than heavy technical instruction. Students ages 9–11 would explore digital creativity through basic graphic design using Canva for Education, learning how images, colors, and fonts work together while creating simple posters, flyers, and social media–style graphics. Activities would also include beginner photo editing, image-based storytelling, and simple animation such as moving text, stickers, and characters. Through short digital storytelling projects, team-based design challenges, and guided discussions on internet safety and responsible online creativity, students would build foundational technology skills while having fun.
Requirement for students: Canva for Education would be a valuable tool for this course. Each student would need to create a Canva account before attending class so they can fully participate in design projects and classroom activities. Canva for Education is free for eligible students and educators who register with an educational account. Having students sign up in advance would make the transition into design work much smoother. JCC Summer Camps are not eligible for transfer or refund, as registration fees fund these programs. However, registrants will receive a 100% refund if the College cancels the camp.
