About this Camp
In this fun and creative class, you will explore the exciting world of color through painting and drawing. You will experiment with brushes, learn how to mix colors, create a simple color wheel, and discover lights, darks, and shadows by adding black and white to a color. Through playful activities and imaginative projects—like painting a lunar calendar on a turtle's back—you will build confidence, develop basic art skills, and express your creativity. By the end of the program, you will create your own unique painting using everything you have learned.
* “Say Hello to My Little Brush”—practice making thick, thin, and wavy strokes with a stroke of the brush.
* “Harry’s Color Magic!”—mix primary colors to create your own color wheel.
* “Peter Pan Lost His Shadow!”—explore color variations by adding white or black.
* “Turtle Moon Magic!”—a turtle's back tells a story, inspired by the Native American lunar calendar and the moons of the year.
* “Just Keep on Painting—Your Turn to Shine”—student choice painting (a single object or subject you can paint using different colors, lights, darks and shadows).
Campers, please bring your own drinks and snacks, and have your child wear clothing they don’t mind getting paint on.
